Welcome to Sencha Dojo Blog! Learn from Sensei All About Japanese Green Tea

Updated: Apr 11

Inspired by Japanese culture, our owner visited Japan in 2017 and experienced the lovely nature, cuisine, and its people. However, one thing played a vital role in his visit. It is Japanese Green Tea. By gradually trying out different types of Japanese green tea starting from hotel room teas to visiting tea shops, he got immersed by the complexity yet simplicity of the green tea culture.

From the diversity of types, processes, and blends that were created and slowly evolved through the period of Japanese history, there are unlimited ways to enjoy a cup of Japanese tea. By tweaking temperature, steep time, and amount of tea, so many results can be achieved and enjoyed.

The goal of Sencha Dojo is to spread the vast culture of Japanese Tea in the UAE and be a pioneer of the Japanese Green Tea culture in the region. Our goal can be achieved through knowledge sharing, teaching, and sourcing the Japanese tea and its derivatives and tools. There is a huge potential for green tea to evolve in UAE, which will give a huge benefit to the community that will embrace this culture of green tea due to the vast health benefits that green tea provide and by building a social circle of individuals sharing the same interest.

We source our tea directly from a family-owned Japanese tea farm in Wazuka, Kyoto, Japan. The farm has a history of 35o years of cultivating tea in this prime location. We are proud to source tea from the first tea farm in Japan to be certified Organic JAS for tea fields and factory which fulfill the standard of both USDA and EU Organic. All our teas are organic free of pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers.

We want to conclude by writing, welcome to our Dojo, where we are here to teach, enjoy, share, and source Japanese green tea and its culture. Follow our blog to read our fun and informative posts including brewing methods, recipes, information about different types of tea and tea-ware and more!
